November Newsletter
Greetings Earthling
hope this finds you well!
Here’s some offerings, updates and invitations for November.
It’s been a tough year here and we are really hoping to get some rest in the coming month, composting the remains of 2021 - inspired by the falling leaves.
But there’s also exciting plans afoot for the next season of the podcast in 2022, as well as expanding our community participation through gatherings and offering up radical learning/unlearning experiences to help more folks step into service and help bring life back on Spaceship Earth.
On that note
we have a few questions that we’d love to hear your thoughts on to help us
shape all of this.
This edition has a strong climate flavour post COP26….
Enjoy, thanks for your support and look after yourself
Dan and Crew
Invitation: We’d love your feedback on The Spaceship Earth Podcast to help shape our future plans
We are at an exciting stage of development in the journey of the Spaceship Earth podcast with some ace things going on behind the scenes that we are looking forward to sharing with you.
In the meantime we'd love to know what you think about a few things connected to the podcast, about what you enjoy, what you'd like to see more of and how you might want to support the next phase of this podcast.
Your feedback
is hugely helpful in shaping the direction and development of what next.
This form will take 5 - 10 mins
max to fill out and most of the questions are multiple choice so there's only a few where you'll need to write your own response.

Watch: Climate Justice According to Kids
If you’ve been hearing the term
‘climate justice’
around COP26 and want to understand what it really means - this 7 min film nails everything you need to know. If you want to go deeper listen to
Episode 46
with climate justice activist Daze Aghaji
Read: Indigenous Voices are still not heard
Atmos magazine
speaks to environmental activist Nina Gualinga from Sarayaku,
Ecuador about the urgency of redefining progress and why fossil fuel extraction must cease entirely.
Watch: Ocean Mic - An ocean and climate emergency from COP 26
Who speaks for the ocean?
So much treasure in this latest chapter of
Ocean Mic
- a collaboration between Dan and ocean inspired clothing brand Finisterre - this time themed around the Ocean and Climate Emergency,
#COP26
and filmed up in Edinburgh, Glasgow and online. Listen to the voices of marine scientists, blue health advocates, beat poets, activists, surfers and everyday citizens - diversity breeds magic.
Listen: Mya-Rose Craig - Birdgirl - We Have a dream
As
#COP26
passes with a real sense of old power in the room and new power locked out on the streets
this episode
is timely. Mya-Rose Craig AKA
@birdgirluk
is a racial equality & climate and environmental campaigner and activist. Nineteen and British-Bangladeshi, she’s the youngest British person to be awarded an honorary Doctorate of Science for fighting for equal access to nature and ethnic diversity in the environmental sector. She’s just released her first book -‘ We Have A Dream’ a book to amplify the voice of thirty young indigenous people and people of colour protecting our planet. Enjoy.
Watch: Climate Scientist Kevin Anderson tell it as it is at COP26
Who do you trust on climate science? I trust UK climate scientist
Kevin Anderson
- I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin back in 2014 on a
project I designed
exploring why the advertising sector was silent on climate change. Kevin was one of the first scientists to really speak up with radical honesty on what the climate science tells us. This is some thoughts from him at COP26 recorded with
Nick Breeze
. Don’t believe the NETZERO hype. And if you want to hear more about what Climate Science was demanding at COP26 and what it means for our economic approaches and what our leaders are not telling us -
I recommend watching this
from Tim Jackson and Scientists Warning Europe.
Watch: A Story About Bread
If you
follow me on instagram
you’ll know that I love making sourdough bread, I’m a decade into my journey and it’s become a critical weekly practice. It’s a living process, it grounds me and if you work with quality flour, you can create a fermented super food. In
Episode 49
I had an amazing conversation with Andy Cato, one half of Groove Armada and a regenerative farmer who has brought
WildFarmed
grain into the world - it’s one of our most listened episodes and this amazing film is fresh from Wild Farmed explaining their philosophy.
Watch: Clover Hogan deliver a masterclass in radical honesty and courageous leadership at COP26
Clover Hogan is the founder of
Force of Nature
, a mobilising platform supporting young people to turn their eco-anxiety into regenerative action. Clover is awesome and we’re hoping she’ll be in conversation on The SpaceShip Earth in 2022.
Listen: Tom Middleton - Isolated 100 mix
Chilled cosmic ambient brilliance from Tom Middleton, music to lie down and compost yourself

With nearly 60 episodes available now (some of them experimental to be fair) and the current momentum is releasing two per month. It takes time, energy and cost to get these out, and I’m keeping it ad free. I do all of this in the spirit of the gift, I won’t stop that but if you like what I’m doing with the podcast, newsletter, mixes etc and you want to support it there are three ways currently to do that.
Share it with friends and/or give it a review on
Apple Podcasts
or whatever your platform - it really helps more people to find it.
Chip in here
- the price of a takeaway coffee if you enjoy an episode.
Much gratitude to you for being here.
