Think about it.
In the last 250 years or so (a cosmic wing flap) we’ve been treating the Earth like a slave to human ‘progress’
Carbon emissions result from an extractive way of relating to the Earth.
Pollution is a relationship problem, seeing air water and soil as limitless spaces to chuck our waste.
Trashing forests, the ocean and other species for materials and development is abusive behaviour.
These thing alone are damaging to life.
Together they are fatal.
The Earth works through relationships.
The climate is created through relationships.
When we disrupt those relationships and push them to the limit, everything changes with impacts we cannot predict or control.
Stable relationships are based on mutual respect and reciprocity, there are boundaries and limits, there is care and attention.
To meet the climate crisis we must move into right relationship with the Earth.
To learn to see things we can’t see,
To listen to things we cannot hear,
To feel our way into a world that puts care at the centre.
And that includes how we relate to ourselves and to each other.
The climate crisis is a relationship crisis and we are the weather.
