Glad you listened Sam, I found this bit really interesting. The only thing I'd add is that I think that vision of 'brand' is closer than we might believe.

1:11:25 What brands might we see?

"I think first of all they won't be called brands anymore. So, like the etymology of the word brand, it means to fire-burn cattle or worse humans, there is no getting away from that origin.

When you actually wear a brand that symbolises a certain thing, you should think about what you're actually doing there, are you a walking advert or are you someway owned or co-opted by that brand?

...they won't be called brands anymore as they won't be symbols of aspiration. I think these systems will become not communication systems but conversation systems.

The brands will be the like, the relationship devices between communities and organisations. And in doing so they will unlock the full-power of those communities, they won't see any separation, and therefore they'll be kind of amplified in their potential through it.

....people coming together to cross pollinate and skill share and like intel share and to start to think about how societies of the future will actually operate, and how we can get there...

...brands play in all that, they're almost the conduit between all of those exchanges, they're not driven by any single aspiration to increase revenue, it's more about a kind of strengthening of communication through community and citizen exchange..."
